so the other day at work I had my icthus ring on, and my mean manager (the new one that was a huge ass hole since the very first day but has recently called a truce) saw it and asked "are you a religious person" I wasn't sure how to respond to that so I said well I'm a christian but I wouldn't say that I'm "religious" really I just don't like being labled as one of those" so through our conversation I learned that He goes to river bend. He was asking me what I ment by saying "those" so I did my best to explain that I'm not the kind of christian that sits in judgement over the rest of the world...and I'm not to fond of those who do.
later that day I was telling Nathan and Amy about this convo. and Nathan pointed out that out of all the crazy alcholics (just trust me on this one) the only one thats a complete ass hole is the one that is "christian"
how do I put in words what I believe with out offending anyone... It's not possible someone is going to take it the wrong way!!!
I believe in God the father, His son and Holy spirit...I believe I screw up and I believe i'm forgiven...I believe God is Loving, merciful and full of grace...I also believe he sometimes gets angry...but I believe he allways loves me...and I definately don't think God would turn away someone or give up on someone or expect us to be perfect...I don't believe the church is a building...I do believe that church is what happens when believers get together and live out life together, learning from each other and growing with each other, all at different stages but all together.
why is that so hard for people to understand!!! or better yet why does the word "christian" have to carry so much baggage?
